Fastpitch Bats
From the tee to elite travel ball, the first thing to check is the stamp your league runs - WBSC or ASA/USA and USSSA. From there it's feel: balanced for bat speed, a touch of end-load for power, in composite or alloy, drops -8 to -13.
Brand-new to the circle? Start with a t-ball fastpitch bat, or read our guide to softball bat stamps.

Yes. We carry USA Softball (formerly ASA) and USSSA certified fastpitch bats approved for school, collegiate and tournament play, as well as WBSC fastpitch bats for international competition. Always confirm which certification stamp your league or tournament requires before buying.
Fastpitch bats are lighter, with a bigger drop weight (usually -8 to -13) to help hitters react to pitches coming in fast. Slowpitch bats are heavier and built to generate maximum power against slow, arcing pitches. The two are not interchangeable, so choose a bat made for the game you play.
The right fastpitch bat size depends on the player’s height, weight, strength and age. Length is measured in inches, and the drop is the length minus the weight (a 32" bat weighing 22 oz is a drop -10). Use our fastpitch bat size guide to find the right length and weight, or ask our in-store staff for a fitting.
Younger and developing players usually swing a lighter drop -11 to -13 for better bat speed and control. Stronger high school, college and elite players often move to drop -10, -9 or -8 for more mass and power through the zone. Our bat buying guide explains how to choose.
It depends on the feel you want:
One-piece alloy bats offer instant response, maximum energy transfer and a stiff feel that contact hitters love for driving line drives.
Two-piece composite and hybrid bats use connection technology for an expanded sweet spot, reduced vibration and a smoother, more controlled swing.
Contact hitters usually prefer balanced fastpitch bats for faster swing speed and better bat control. Power hitters often choose end-loaded bats, which put more mass at the end of the barrel for extra driving power. Not sure which fits your swing? See our bat buying guide.
Alloy fastpitch bats are durable, perform well right out of the wrapper and are usually more affordable. Composite fastpitch bats offer a larger sweet spot, less vibration on mishits and often more pop once broken in, but typically cost more.
Most manufacturers recommend not using composite bats in cold temperatures, since the material becomes more brittle and can crack. This matters in Canada during spring and fall seasons. Check your bat’s warranty conditions, and consider an alloy bat for cold-weather practices.
For beginners, our T-ball fastpitch bats are light and easy to swing. As players grow, a lightweight drop -12 or -13 fastpitch bat helps build proper mechanics and bat speed. Our youth bat size chart helps you pick the right length.
